If you're looking for an easy appetizer, this Smoked Buffalo Chicken Dip is the best. It's the perfect creamy dip for game day, parties, movie nights, or just when you want to whip up a crowd pleaser with minimal effort.

The best part is that a little bit goes a long way, so this delicious dip will make many taste buds and bellies happy and full. Pair with your favorite dippers, and enjoy.
I know I mentioned above that this was a crowd-pleasing appetizer, but it's also one of my favorite things to make and enjoy over the span of a few days. This recipe is a great way to make an easy dip, while also having the option to use leftover chicken that's in the fridge as well.
The combination of the cheddar cheese and the cream cheese creates a creamy and flavorful texture that will have everyone questioning their stance on double dipping. Make this for your next party or as a comfort food for yourself.
Speaking of easy dips, be sure to try this Smoked Onion Dip and this Corn Dip with Cream Cheese. There's always room for more dips. My new favorite it this creamy Elote Dip Recipe.

How to Make Smoked Buffalo Chicken Dip
Preheat the smoker to 250 degrees.

Step One: Add all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Stir to combine.

Step Two: Add the mixture to a pie plate. Spread it evenly.

Step Three: Place into the preheated smoker.

Step Four: Smoke for 1 hour. The dip should be hot and melty.
Top tip
Your block of cream cheese needs to be very soft. Set it out to get to room temperature to make sure that it has the right texture before adding to the rest of the ingredients. Alternatively, you can microwave it at 15-second intervals until it is soft.
Substitutions
- Cheese - If you don't want to use cheddar cheese, you can use other options. Try blue cheese crumbles for the top of the dip, shredded mozzarella cheese, or any other type of cheese that you want.
- Hot sauce - I like Frank’s Redhot, but use your brand of choice.
Variations
- Shredded chicken - You can use cooked chicken breasts, leftovers from a cooked whole chicken, or even a store-bought rotisserie chicken for this classic buffalo chicken dip.
- Buffalo wing sauce - This can be used in place of the hot sauce.

Equipment
To make this buffalo chicken dip recipe, you'll want a large bowl, baking dish, or pie pan and a spoon for stirring.
Storage
Delicious appetizers like this are still great the next day! To store leftover buffalo chicken dip, put the mixture into an airtight container and keep it in the fridge. When you're ready to eat, reheat in a cast iron skillet on the stove for a short time or in a microwave-safe dish.

Common Questions
That's the best part. It's so versatile that most simple ingredients will work! You can dip tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, corn chips, or anything else that you want. Some people make celery boats and add this mixture to the top, while others keep it as a simple dip.
You can. Just put less of the hot sauce or buffalo sauce in the mixture, or omit it completely. The recipe card shows how to make it a hot dip, but you can focus more on the smoky flavor instead of spice.
If you don't want to put this into a pie plate on the smoker, you can add the ingredients to a large cast iron skillet or pan. You could also use an aluminum pan as well. As long as you're using a heat-safe pan, it will be fine.
