When you're craving a tropical cocktail, give this yummy cocktail a try. The flavor of a rum cocktail paired with pineapple juice and fresh mint proves that you can make a fun mojito recipe with ease. While this cocktail recipe might scream summer, it's safe to say that it will hold its own during any time of the year. All you need is a tall glass and the directions on the printable recipe card below to get started.

Be sure to stock up on ice cubes and fresh lime so that you don't have to stop and pause for anything. Class cocktails like this should be made and enjoyed ASAP!

    Ingredients

Coconut rum - You can also use regular white rum or dark rum.

Pineapple juice - Fresh pineapple juice or canned pineapple juice works fine.

Lime juice - You can also use lemon juice.

Passion fruit juice - Adds a burst of delicious flavor. This is also known as passion fruit pulp or passion fruit nectar.

Sparkling water - This adds a nice fizz to the drink.

    Mint leaves - For flavor.

    Variations

Add lemon juice - Adding some sort of citrus flavor to this drink is the best way to make the flavor pop. This can be done using lime juice or lemon juice. Either war.

Add club soda - Even though this drink recipe uses sparkling soda, you can absolutely have a throw back to a classic mojito and use club soda instead. You can also use sparking water that is flavored for this cocktail as well.

Add a fun garnish - Putting some fresh pineapple on the edge of your highball glass is a fun and delicious garnish.

Add a mint sprig - This can add fun flavor and also looks really cool.

Use a different type of rum - If you want to use dark rum or a delicious blend of Caribbean white rum, go for it. It's fun to change the flavor here and there.

    Common Questions

Can I add other juices to this drink?

If you want to limit the pineapple juice and add other juices, passion fruit would be a great choice to have more of. This would turn this drink into a delicious passion fruit mojito while still giving it fun and fruity tropical flavors.

You can also add other juices as well. Just be sure that you like the flavor of the juice because it will stand out in the drink!

Can you order a mojito without alcohol?

You can. If you want to make this into a virgin mojito, just leave out the alcohol, and it can become a fun mocktail drink that everyone can enjoy.

This is a fun way to have drink options for people at parties or gatherings. Having one option for the adults and another option for the kids is super easy to do.

Do you serve mojitos over ice?

Yes, this simple cocktail recipe is meant to be served cold. Make sure you add ice to the drink when making it, and add ice cubes to a glass. The colder the drink, the better.

You can also change how you enjoy the drink by changing the texture of the ice. Some like ice cubes, while others like ice chips. I do think that ice chips melt faster, so keep that in mind while making this drink.

What alcohol is best for mojitos?

For the best flavor and taste, using white rum is going to be the best option. I say change it up and bit and find the flavor that you like the best.

Can I use vodka instead of rum in a mojito?

Yes, if you're a fan of vodka, you can use vodka in the drink instead of rum. This will change the flavor a bit, but it will still make a delicious cocktail.

Make sure that you try it with vodka and rum first and then decide which one you like the best. They do have two different tastes.
