Get ready - this Skrewball Whiskey Ice Cream just might become your new favorite dessert. With just six simple ingredients, you can have homemade ice cream, unlike anything you've ever tasted in a short amount of time. Boozy ice cream is delicious and perfect for an after-dinner treat.

It's no secret that ice cream was probably at the top of the list of all our favorite childhood snacks growing up. It's so good and creamy, it just makes sense. But having an "adult take" on it means that we now get to enjoy and indulge without having to share. Who says that adulting can't be fun?

I like to think of this as a boozy dessert cocktail and one that pairs up well with just about any type of meal. After a day of cooking or smoking on the grill, enjoying some Skrewball ice cream sounds just about perfect.

Be sure to check out my Grilled Peach and Mascarpone Ice Cream for another fun twist and ice cream flavor. Being an adult also means that you don't have to stop at just one bowl or one choice for dessert. Enjoy all the sweet treats, you deserve it.

    Ingredients

Whole milk - Whole milk is needed for the richness and that boost of fat. It helps to add to the creaminess.

Heavy cream - Speaking of creaminess, heavy cream is the star of the show.

Sugar - A tad bit of sugar pairs perfectly with the other simple ingredients.

Skrewball peanut butter whiskey - This is a delicious whiskey with peanut butter. It sounds a little crazy but the two flavors really do work together perfectly! Grab a bottle or two from the store and enjoy.

Egg yolks - Save the egg whites for breakfast!

Peanut butter - Make sure to use creamy peanut butter for this ice cream as it adds to the creamy texture.

    Variations

Try it with bourbon - Why stop at just whiskey? Change up the alcohol to change up the taste! You can easily play around with different options to see what you like best.

Add toppings - Toppings are always welcomed on this peanut butter whiskey ice cream. Chocolate syrup, caramel drizzle, freshly cut strawberries, or even a few bacon crumbles would be an awesome addition.

Leave out the liquors - This ice cream is delicious but you can make it alcohol-free as well. Just leave out the whiskey and enjoy the vanilla peanut butter flavor.

Ice cream float - Use this as a base for a Skrewball ice cream float! Just add your favorite soda or seltzer. For a real boozy ice cream float, kick add an extra shot of peanut butter whiskey.

    Common Questions

How do you store leftovers of this Skrewball peanut butter whiskey?

If you have a pint container that can be placed in the fridge, that will work great. Otherwise, a freezer-safe container of any shape will work.

Make sure that you have an airtight lid so that it doesn't get freezer-burnt. When it comes to scooping out frozen ice cream, you can set it out for a few moments to let it soften or run your scoop or spoon under warm water to help heat it up so it scoops the ice cream easier.

Can you use this creamy vanilla ice cream base for other sweet treats?

Making tasty treats at home with flavored whiskey is always a fun idea. If you're more of a boozy milkshake fan, use this recipe and just put it into milkshake glasses. You can then add a shot of the whiskey as an extra boost if you'd like or add some fudge for a chocolate fudge swirl look.

Once you make this tasty treat, you'll be thinking of so many other ways to eat it!

What other types of alcohol can be used for this peanut butter whiskey ice cream?

You can test them all out and see what you think. Rum would be a good option and would pair well with the sweetness and creaminess of the dish.

Vodka is sometimes used in ice creams to keep them soft and scoopable. It has a mild flavor so using it here would really let the flavor of the peanut butter shine.

If you have alcohol in mind that you want to try, give it a go. You just might create your new favorite drink and dessert recipe, all in one.

If you are primarily a fan of whiskey make sure to try our Bourbon Whiskey Margarita for a great refreshing cocktail.
