A popular summer drink, coconut rum punch is a refreshing way to enjoy the hot weather. Made with just five ingredients, this punch is made with a blend of Malibu coconut rum and four different fruit juices. It is sure to quench your thirst on a hot day.

Malibu rum is a popular choice for many rum punches. Its light, fruity flavor makes it a versatile mixer that can be used in a variety of ways. Whether you're looking for a refreshing summer drink, tropical cocktail, or a festive holiday punch, Malibu rum is a great option. It reminds me of a tropical vacation while at home. You can't beat every sip of a coconut rum punch recipe that has the spirit of the Caribbean.

Any time we are at a wedding with an open bar I lean towards my favorite fruity alcoholic drink, the Malibu Bay Breeze. I took that classic beverage with a Caribbean twist and added a few more tropical flavors to make this fun punch recipe. For a fun frozen option try this Blue Colada. And this Moscow Mule with Rum is a nice light option.

    Ingredients

Coconut Rum - Coconut rum is a type of rum that is made with the addition of coconut flavor. This can be done through the use of coconut extract, or by infusing the rum with fresh coconut. Coconut rum is popular in tropical cocktails, and can also be enjoyed on its own.

Cranberry Juice - Cranberry juice is rich in antioxidants and has been shown to have numerous health benefits. Try to choose one that is 100% juice without added sugar.

Orange Juice - Orange juice is a popular breakfast drink made from the juice of oranges. It is usually freshly squeezed, but can also be made from concentrate.

Pineapple Juice - Pineapple juice is a drink made from the juice of pineapples. It is usually pretty sweet without any added sugar.

Mango Nectar - Mango normally comes as mango nectar and not mango juice. If your store does have mango juice that is fine to use instead of mango nectar.

How to Make Malibu Rum Punch

Step One: Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker or pitcher. Mix well.

Step Two: Pour into glasses full of ice cubes. Garnish with a slice of orange, a slice of pineapple, or maraschino cherries, if desired.

    Variations

Plain Rum - If you don't have coconut rum you can substitute your favorite brand of plain rum and add a teaspoon of coconut extract.

Flavored Malibu - Malibu Rum also comes in some fun flavors like watermelon, lime, mango, and passion fruit. Feel free to try any fruity flavor you like in this cocktail.

Coconut Water - If you'd like a lighter cocktail not so heavy on fruit juice you can cut the amounts of juices in half and replace the rest with coconut water.

Creamy - For a creamy punch add an ounce or two of coconut milk or heavy cream.

Glasses - Serve in any glass you'd like such as a highball glass, hurricane glass, or rocks glass. Just make sure it has room for the ice.

    Common Questions

    What is Malibu Rum?

Malibu rum is a popular Caribbean rum with a characteristic natural coconut flavor. It is produced by Pernod Ricard USA in the island nation of Barbados. Malibu rum is one of the most versatile rums on the market, and its Rum Punch is a perfect example of that.

What is the best thing to mix with Malibu rum?

This is one of my favorite liquors. It is great in fruit drinks like this malibu rum punch cocktail and a classic Malibu Bay Breeze which is made with cranberry juice and pineapple juice. It is also nice just mixed with a lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7-Up. Many people will also pour a splash into a cola soda like Coke or Pepsi.
