Ingredients
Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur - We enjoy this brand and have had great results with it but another brand of coffee liqueur should be fine.
Espresso - We have a Nespresso espresso machine so making an espresso is easy. You can also use a stovetop espresso maker or just brew some really strong coffee.
Vodka - You can use your own personal preference brand or pick an infused vodka as well.
Heavy cream - Heavy whipping cream adds a creamy texture and fun look. To lighten this us sub in half and half or light cream.
Ice Cubes - To chill the drink.

Variations
Change the alcohol adding - While I'm a fan of adding Grey Goose vodka, you can add anything that you like. There is always Kahlua coffee liqueur that you can add to make Bailey's espresso martini, or you can even add some Irish whiskey.
Add cocoa powder - For a richer flavor, you can add some cocoa powder and then stir it in. Adding a bit of sugar syrup can also be a great way to get some other sweet flavors.
Add toppings - Don't forget to add some toppings to the top of your cocktail! You can add a foamy top of whipped cream or even drizzle some fudge sauce or caramel sauce on top to make it more of a dessert cocktail. Adding a few espresso beans on top looks great, too.
Cold brew coffee - If you don't have an espresso machine you can use strong coffee instead. Either way, this is delicious and always gives great results.
Creamy liqueur - You can skip the heavy whipping cream and double up on the alcohol if you want. Just swirl in some Bailey's Irish Cream, Kahlua, or another creamy cordial you enjoy.
Common Questions
Can I make and use my own coffee mixture?
You can! If you grind your own coffee beans and want to make your own coffee from an espresso machine, go for it. You could also use Instant coffee to save time.
The great thing about this classic espresso martini is that it's versatile in how it can be made. This perfect drink can be made with a purchased cold brew concentrate or use what you have at home.
You can even make a decaf espresso martini if you want that same creamy texture without any of the added caffeine. This would be a great option for a delicious espresso martini with less caffeine for those late-night cocktails.
Do I need to use a cocktail shaker?
Nope, not at all. You aren't supposed to shake martinis at all. We just learned that recently. They are traditionally stirred and not shaken.
You can add everything right to the glass and stir - it's as simple as that. That's the beauty of making this simple fresh espresso drink.
How do I make a creamy top?
The cream will naturally rise to the top of the Mr. Black espresso martini. But if you want a thick frothy topping the easiest way is to use a milk frother and froth the heavy cream that you're going to use. Just add it to a separate glass and froth. The spinning of the frother and the air will make a light and fluffy top that you can add to the top of the creamy espresso martini.
Some of the toppings are going to fall into the rest of the cocktail, and that is also what makes this drink unique and delicious!
