This Cheese Stuffed Garlic Bread is the easiest way to make a delicious appetizer or side. It's perfect for any time that you're craving comfort food recipes without a ton of work. It'll be the star of the show no matter when and where it's served.

I always serve this cheesy garlic bread at different times. Sometimes it's made to be the ultimate side dish, while other times it's made for game day snacking. It's just one of those bread recipes that has flexibility because it's such an easy recipe with an amazing flavor.
That melty cheese paired with the soft bread creates a killer texture combination that really can't be topped. You can serve in equal portions, or just keep it all to yourself. No judgment here.

Ingredients
- Round loaf of bread - This can be any type of bread. We used homemade sourdough, but anything will work. French bread or Italian bread can work too, sliced lengthwise and stuffed for baguette shapes.
- Melted butter - I use salted butter.
- Fresh garlic - Adds flavor but needs to be finely minced.
- Parsley - For flavor.
- Mozzarella cheese - This adds all the cheesy goodness.
- Parmesan cheese - Adds flavor and a nice saltiness.
- Marinara sauce - This is optional, but great for dipping.
See recipe card for quantities.

How to Make Cheese Stuffed Garlic Bread
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step One: Cut a cross-hatch pattern into the top of the loaf of bread. Then put it into a baking dish.

Step Two: Mix the butter, minced garlic, and parsley.

Step Three: Brush in all the cracks. Brush any remaining butter on top of the bread.

Step Four: Stuff the cheese into the crevices. If it doesn't fit, sprinkle the rest on top.

Step Three: Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and the top is golden-brown.

Step Four (optional): Remove some of the middle of the bread (feel free to taste test!) and then add a ramekin of marinara sauce to the middle to use as a dip. This is optional.
Top tip
If you don't have a kitchen brush to add the homemade garlic butter to the bread, just drizzle it slowly to spread it out.
Substitutions
- Garlic powder - In a pinch, you can use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic.
- Olive oil - Olive oil can replace the butter, if desired.
Variations
- Fresh breads - You can also experiment with different sizes of bread to make this a bigger or smaller portion. If you make it bitter, you'll need to increase your gooey cheese and also the buttery garlic spread, but that's easy enough to do.
- Types of cheeses - Have fun with the cheese in this recipe. You can use any type that you want for this easy cheesy stuffed garlic bread.
- Bread loaf - Use your favorite here as well. All you need is just a loaf that can turn into pull-apart bread.
- Herbs and spices - Season the butter with onion powder, fresh basil, or dried herbs to make a garlic herb butter. Yum!

Equipment
The great thing about making this stuffed garlic bread recipe is that you don't need a ton of equipment. A large bowl and a pan or skillet are really all that it takes.
Storage
Once you make this delicious garlic bread, be sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. When you want to eat again, you can add extra mozzarella cheese to the top of the loaf and reheat to get it gooey and melty.

Common Questions
You can also use cheddar cheese, Colby Jack, Italian cheese blend, or even pepper jack cheese for a spicy kick. Small cubes work just as well as shredded cheese.
If you have some of the herb butter left over, you can just drizzle it on top of the bread or use the remaining butter as a fun dip. One of the best things about this cheesy bread is that it's versatile.
