Ingredients
Pork chops - You don't want to use thin pork chops here. You want to be able to butterfly them with a sharp pairing knife so that you can stuff them with the mixture.
Apples - Choose whatever apples have the best flavor and use them. Gala apples would be delicious.
Red onions - I like red onions because they have great flavor and a bit of sweetness that pairs well with the fruit.
Roasted pecans - You could also use walnuts.
Craisins - These are great because they're full of sweetness and have a good chew to them. Raisins would work as well.
Rosemary - For flavor.
Salt - To taste.
Black Pepper - To taste.

Step One: Add the onions and apples to a skillet and lightly saute until they start to soften.

Step Three: Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
Step Four: Cook the pork chops in a single layer for 18-20 minutes and until the meat thermometer shows that they have an internal temperature of at least 145-150 degrees.
Once they are cooked, remove and serve.
Variations
Bone-in pork chops - You can stuff bone in pork chops but you may need to add a few minutes to the cooking time. We love Berkshire pork chops for special occasions.
Add a bit of cream cheese - If you want to make this really savory, you can add a couple cubes of cream cheese in with the stuffing mixture. This will make it nice and creamy and delicious.
Use chicken breast - The fun thing about pork chop recipes like this is that they're flexible. You can literally make this with chicken instead of pork if that is your personal preference. You will just have to adjust the cooking time and make sure that the internal temperature is 165 degrees to be cooked all the way.
Add more ingredients - You can also add some fresh spinach to these delicious air fryer pork chops to get some daily greens. You can add a little bit to the homemade stuffing without any issues. Adding 1 cup celery is a nice way to add a crunch, too. Don't forget those flavorful seasonings are an easy way to make a delicious meal taste different each time you make it. You can add red pepper flakes for some spice, onion powder for a bit more flavor on the pork chops, or even sprinkle on a bit of parmesan cheese once you serve.
Common Questions
What is the best way to check the internal temperature of stuffed chops?
The key to getting an accurate reading and making sure that you're not overcooking or undercooking pork is to test the temperature of the thickest part of the chop with an instant-read thermometer. This will give you an accurate reading and is a great way to make sure that you're cooking juicy perfection. We recently realized that we can leave a temperature probe in the meat while it cooks in the air fryer. This has been a game changer to our air fryer cooking skills.
What are good side dishes and toppings?
The variety of side dishes that you can serve is unlimited. During the cooking process, ask the whole family what they would like as a side dish, and then add it. You can cook any of their favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, or even roasted sweet potatoes.
Some nice side choices would be Lemon Orzo with Spinach, 3 Ingredient Butternut Squash Soup, or Brown Sugar Honey Glazed Carrots.
