We love cooking pork in our new air fryer. It is a cheaper cut of meat, and it always tastes delicious when cooked with this machine! Air fryer pork is a simple entree that is mostly hands-off so you can spend the time preparing your favorite side dishes to go with it.

It is a great meal that is ready in under an hour. Make sure to check out this Frozen Roast in Instant Pot tutorial for the next time you are approaching six o-clock with only frozen meat!

    Ingredients

Pork Roast - We used a 2.5-pound pork loin roast for this recipe. Pork loin is a cut of pork from the side. It is typically lean and may be smoked, cured, brined, or cooked as a bacon substitute.

Olive Oil - It is a fatty oil with a mild taste, but can be used in many recipes. The benefit of using olive oil is that it has the highest level of omega-9 fatty acids, which help lower cholesterol levels. It can also lower your risk of heart disease and some cancers. If you prefer to use another mild-flavored oil like grapeseed oil or avocado oil that would be fine. When using an air fryer you can even omit the oil but we like how it helps the salt and pepper adhere to the meat and helps the pork to form a crust faster keeping the inside moist and juicy.

Salt & Pepper - We decided to just season the pork with some kosher salt or sea salt and black pepper to let the true flavor of the meat shine through. You can really season your pork loin roast however you'd like and we offer variations below.

How to Make Air Fryer Roast Pork

Step One: Season the pork. We just drizzled with a bit of olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper.

Step Two: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Add the seasoned pork. Air fry the pork at 400 for 30 minutes. Flip the roast over and cook for an additional 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 135.

Expert Tip: The pork will continue to cook when removed from the air fryer because of the crust that has formed. As you let it rest the internal temp on the meat thermometer should rise to be the recommended 145 degrees for a pork roast.

    Variations

Herbs - Our favorite herbs to use on pork are rosemary, thyme, and sage. You can add any of these to the seasoning before you rub it on the air fryer pork loin roast.

Spices - Next up are spices. Onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, and ground mustard are nice choices to add to the dry rub seasoning mix.

Sauces - You can also just cook the air fryer pork roast as we have directed but make a fantastic sauce to serve with it. Try it with our Maple Bourbon Glaze or Hot Honey BBQ Sauce.

Sweetness - Adding a little brown sugar to the seasoning blend can enhance the natural sweetness of the pork and give the outside a nice glaze.

    Common Questions

    What is an air fryer?

An air fryer is the perfect kitchen appliance for cooks who want to cut down on their use of oils. This efficient machine can cook foods like French fries or chicken to crispy perfection without any oil. Air fryers are an innovation in cooking technologies, and they change the way people cook food around the world every day.

What are the benefits of cooking with an air fryer?

Air fryers cook food quickly and evenly, allowing the food to cook without the use of oil. The incredibly quick cooking time is one of the major benefits of having an air fryer.

How long does pork take in the air fryer?

A 2.5-pound pork loin roast will take about 50 minutes in an air fryer. The exact cooking time varies based on the cut and weight of the piece of pork you choose.

What temperature should air fryer be for pork?

I like to cook pork at 400 to maximize the crispiness of the outer layer.

What should I serve with pork?

Serve juicy, roasted pork with just about anything. We often serve with roasted fresh vegetables, a crisp salad, and steaming hot baked potatoes. Smoked sweet potatoes or brown rice are other good choices for starch. This broccoli casserole is a great choice for a rich and creamy side. Green bean keto fries are another great option.

Can I cook this in an oven?

Sure, you can roast pork at 375 for about 60-75 minutes for a 3 lb pork loin. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 140 and then cover it and let it rest to reach 145.

    Storage

Make sure to store any leftovers in the fridge. We are generally pretty casual on how long to keep things in the refrigerator but the recommended time for cooked meat is 3.4 days. I do not recommend freezing cooked pork. It tends to dry out.
