Lay slices of apple to cover the bottom of the pan.
Top with a single layer of bread cubes. Repeat until all the apples and bread has been layered.
Put the remaining ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Pour over the casserole.
Refrigerate overnight, if desired.
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350.
Bake the casserole for 20-25 minutes if room temperature. If it is coming out the refrigerator the cook time will be closer to 35-40 minutes. Bake until the edges are golden and the center no longer jiggles.
Fresh Apple Syrup
Add the apples and water to a small saucepan. Cook over medium for 15 minutes or until the apples soften.
