Slice sausage, onions, and peppers into thick slices.
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Once the pan is hot the butter, onions, and peppers. Saute the onions and peppers for about five minutes.
Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and continue to cook, stirring occasionally. After about 8 to 10 minutes you are done. The meat is ready once it is heated through. I recommend cooking until at least 140℉.
Once it is done, remove the skillet from the heat and serve.
